Dialog for setting up writing parameters to raster file (text document, BOM) |
Scroll |
This dialog appears on the screen if, when saving a text document or BOM, one of the raster formats was selected.
In the dialog, you can configure the settings for writing to the raster file.
When saving to all the formats, except the TIFF format, a separate raster file is created for each sheet. The method of saving to the TIFF format is determined by the status of the Multi-page TIFF option.

Description |

Chromaticity |
This list is used to select the number of colors. Since the size of a raster file is proportional to the number of colors, high chromaticity is recommended to use only for writing 3D models (or documents containing inserts depicting 3D models) – that will let correctly reproduce color renditions. Having written a file, view it in an appropriate bitmap editor. If the color transitions do not look "smooth" enough, increase chromaticity and write the file again. |
|
Display in grayscale |
This option is used to write color tints in grayscale. The amount of grayscale will be the more, the higher chromaticity is set. Therefore, the inclusion of this option is not equivalent to choosing black-and-white as a saving method in which shades of gray are created by "mixing" black and white pixels. |

All lines are thin |
To define line thickness for a bitmap file the line thickness settings from the Dialog for setting up system linesThe thickness in pixels is calculated so that when printing with the resolution specified in the Resolution, dots per inch, they have the thickness set for printing. The result is rounded to integer value. For example, thin lines with default settings (thickness on paper = 0,18 mm, resolution = 96 DPI) will have the thickness 1 pixel in bitmap file. The same lines with the 300 DPI resolution will have the thickness 2 pixels. An option All lines are thin controls the line thickness: if enabled, all lines in the raster file will have the thickness set for thin lines, and if disabled, the lines will have individual thicknesses. Line thickness on paper is a line style option. For system styles, it is set in the system lines settings dialog, and for user styles when setting them. |
|
|
The state of the option All lines Are Thin does not affect the thickness of the lines of the font. |
|
Scale |
The field to set the image scale. |
|
Resolution, dots per inch |
The field in which you can enter or select the image resolution. |
|
|
Since the size of a raster file is proportional to the resolution, high resolution is recommended to use only for writing documents that contain fine details and boundaries of substantial curvature – that will help reproduce them with minimum losses. Having written a file, view it in an appropriate bitmap editor. If you are not satisfied with the image quality, increase the resolution and write the file again. |
|
Pages |
The group of controls that is used to select pages for writing. |
|
All |
When enabled, this option means that all pages of the document will be written. |
|
Current |
When enabled, this option means that only the current page of the document will be written. |
|
Range |
When enabled, this option means that the specified pages will be written. You can enter numbers and/or ranges of page numbers in the field, e.g. "1, 3-5". |
|
Page Sequence |
This list is used to specify which pages of the range you want to write: all, only even, or only odd. |
|
Multi-page TIFF |
The option allows, upon saving a document in the TIFF format to generate a multi-page file on whose each page one document sheet will be located. With this option disabled, a separate TIFF file is created for each sheet. The option is unavailable for other raster formats. |
|
Document size, mm |
Page image dimensions in mm. |
|
Image size, pixels |
Page image dimensions in points. This value depends on the specified scale and resolution. |
|
Preview Window |
The window is used to display the page selected for writing. |
When you have finished setting the parameters, click the Export button to start recording. To cancel saving, press the Cancel button.
The table below describes the color options for the pages to be written.
Color options for writing objects
Variant |
Description |
|
Black |
All the lines and text are written in black, fills and raster images – in grayscale. |
|
Set for object |
Lines are written in colors set for them in the system settings dialog, fills and hatches – in colors set during their creation. Images of three-dimensional objects are written in colors set during setup of properties of these objects. |
|
Set for view, |
Objects located in various views are written in colors set for these views. The option is available while writing drawings. |
|
Set for layer |
Objects located in various layers are written in colors set for these layers. The option is available while writing drawings and fragments. |
|
Current view of the document |
The document will be written as it was displayed on the screen before the export command was called. This option is available when writing graphic and text documents, as well as BOMs. |
|
Writing to raster formats is subject to setting print filters. For example, the created drawing file will contain only those objects of the KOMPAS document for which printing was enabled. |
