If the mass and the center of mass of the model are not set by the user, but are determined through calculations, then after editing a model, which may result in change of the mass and position of the center of masses, their current values are deleted from the model. To obtain new values of mass and coordinates of the center of masses, it is necessary to re-calculated the CMP. You can do it manually (using the CMP Properties command, see section CMP Properties) or automatically.

By default, automatic recalculation of CMP is performed while saving the model. The user can additionally enable automatic recalculation of CMP on re-building the model, or disable automatic re-calculation of MP. This setting is performed in the CMP Calculationdialog fetched with the Settings — Parameters... — System — Model Editor — MP command.

You can enable one of the options of the dialog – Recalculate the CMP while preserving it. or Recalculate the CMP when restructuring. or both the options.

Results of automatic CMP recalculation are saved in a model file. On insertion of a model into another model, they are handed over to this mode and are used while calculating its mass-centering characteristics.

If none of the options is enabled, automatic CMP recalculation is not performed.

On completion of the set-up, click OK. Click Cancel to discard all changes and close the dialog box.
