The mode of working with technical requirements is intended for input, editing and setup of their text. To start the mode, invoke the Detailing – Technical requirements – Set/modify command. Technical specifications and elements of work with them are displayed on a separate tab in the window KOMPAS-3D.

Signs of the mode of working technical requirements:

orange color of the tab and heading of the Parameter Toolbar,

The name displayed in the tab header — «The filename Technical Requirements»,

the mode icon in the graphic area .

If technical specifications are set in the document, they are shown in the graphic region. Also a dotted marquee designating the page borders of technical requirements on a sheet is displayed. By default, borders in the drawing are set by the width of the title block. To learn more about changing the borders, see section Location of technical specifications in the drawing.

In this mode all the features are available for entering, editing and formatting text which are described in the section Working procedures, except for the insertion of vertical text and illustrations.

You can speed up work on creating technical specifications by excluding the repeated entry of frequently used items and using the standard text input (see section Standard texts).

During creation of technical specifications, you can save or insert the text as blocks from text files (*.txt) or text documents of KOMPAS-3D (*.kdw) (see section Use of text blocks).

Using the Spelling menu Edit, you can perform spell check of texts in various languages (see section Spelling check by a command fetch).

Entered technical specifications are transferred to the document after saving the changes made in the mode.

Commands of saving and closing the technical requirements are grouped into the File menu. They can be also invoked on the toolbar above the graphic region in the mode of working with technical requirements.

Save tech specifications to container document

To save technical specifications to a document, use the Save tech specifications to container document command.

This does not write the document to the disk.

Save container and tech specifications

To save technical specifications to a document and write the document to the disk, use the Save container and tech specifications command.

After running this command, only the window of technical requirements remains active.

Save technical specifications to file

To save the text of technical specifications in a separate file of the text document KOMPAS-3D in .kdw or .txt format, use the command Save technical specifications to file .

After invoking the command, a dialog appears on the screen where you should specify the file name to be written.

Finish editing specifications

To complete work in the mode, use the command Finish editing specifications .

The document to which technical specifications belong remains opened. To exit the mode of working with technical requirements, click the icon of the mode in the graphic region.
