Automatic scaling of the first sketch |
Scroll |
Scaling the first sketch in the model is a mechanism that allows you to construct a sketch without considering dimensions, maintaining only proportions, and then reduce or enlarge the entire image by setting one dimension.
Scaling is performed automatically for all objects in the first sketch, when you define the first Associative controlling dimension (any, except angular). Scaling coefficient is calculated as relation of specified and initial dimension values. When editing this dimension, as well as when you define next dimensions in the first sketch or any dimensions in other sketches, scaling is not performed.
|
Scaling of the sketch is performed once. That means that even if you delete the first dimension from the sketch and add a new one, sketch won't be scaled again. |
|
In this case to initiate a new scaling operation, you need to enter new dimension value during creation of this dimension. If you keep the same dimension value as was previously used, it basically amounts to scaling with a coefficient 1. Subsequent value changes for existing dimensions do not initiate sketch scaling operations. |
For the purposes of automatic scaling, the first sketch in a model is that one, which is located topmost in the Design tree. If you delete the first sketch from a model, the next one becomes the new "first". If you by dragging the mouse If it is placed higher in the Tree than the first one, then this moved sketch becomes the first sketch in the model. If the automatic scaling has not been previously performed in a sketch, that assumes the role of the "fist" by any of the described manipulations, it WILL BE performed after you definite a first dimension in it. This is performed regardless of any previous scaling operations in the sketch that was the "first" earlier.
