Creating an IFC file with the object encoding xml-file disabled |
Scroll |
Saving a model with the xml-file disabled allows to transfer the following data from the KOMPAS-3D model to an IFC file:
•names of components/solids and their colors;
•model view — assembly (when configuring the grouping of solids by CAD structure in the dialog for setting up writing to IFC format);
•system properties (Designation, Name, Mass, Material, and others);
•properties from libraries (*.lpt).
As a result, an object structure with default names is created in the IFC file: Default project, Default site, Default building. By default, sections BuildingStorey and Space are not created.
To set up the file transfer with the xml-file disabled, follow these steps in the dialog for setting up writing to IFC format.
1.Delete the file from the Object encoding file. The field must be left blank.
2.Configure the structure of the output file in the Grouping bodies.
If the Combine into one body mode is selected, the following data will be displayed in the IFC file:
•Structure — one object of the class IfcBuildingElementProxy.
•Name of the object in the tree — the name of the first level part/assembly in the KOMPAS-3D Document tree.
•Color — the color of the object in KOMPAS-3D if the group Colors has the option Transmit original color enabled.
In this case, configure the screen color — from the object — in the IFC file viewer.
•Properties — from the properties of the first level part/assembly in KOMPAS-3D, if the group Properties includes the option Transmit all.
If the mode Group by CAD structure is selected, the following data will be displayed in the IFC file:
•Structure — the structure of objects that corresponds to the structure of the KOMPAS-3D tree:
for the assembly — objects of class IfcElementAssembly,
for parts/solids — IfcBuildingElementProxy.
Solids that do not belong to the assembly components will have a Component name/Solid name in the IFC file tree.
Element Maximum level allows you to specify the assembly level number, up to and including which the grouping of objects into one body is performed. For example, entering the number 1 means that in the assembly, all subassemblies will be represented as a single body.
•Name of the object in the tree — the name of the first level part/assembly in the KOMPAS-3D Document tree.
•Color — the color of the object in KOMPAS-3D if the option Colors is enabled in the group Colors.
In this case, configure the screen color — from the object — in the IFC file viewer.
•Properties — from the property of the solid in KOMPAS-3D, if the Properties option is enabled in the group with the Transfer all option.
3.Specify parameters in the group Geometric Representations, if needed.
4.If necessary, in the group Coordinate System configure the recalculation of the object geometry coordinates in the IFC file. The application of custom LSCs is usually required when the direction of axes in the main SCs in different systems does not coincide.

In the IFC file, components/solids with the enabled Visible and disabled Excluded from calculation attributes are included. KOMPAS-3D dimensions and designations (leaders, surface finishes, etc.) are not transferred to an IFC file. |
