Methods for determining zone dimensions |
Scroll |
This method allows building a zone on the coordinates of the parallelepiped points. Follow these steps to configure the zone dimensions.
1.Select the method for defining the parallelepiped using the relevant button in the Variant group:
By two vertices,
By center and vertex.
2.Set the position of the points of the parallelepiped in the element Starting point (1) and End Point (2). The following methods can be used for configuring the point position.
•Enter coordinates in the Coordinates field.
•Indicate the point position with the mouse in the graphic range.
•Specify a point object in the Design Tree or in the graphic range. The name of the selected object is displayed in the Snap point field on the Parameter Panel. The point of the parallelepiped will be associated with the point object.
•To create a point, click Create point
button to the right of the field Snap point. After this button is clicked the subprocess of point plottingstarts. Select the design method and configure the required parameters. After completing the process of building a point, the system will return to the process of building a zone.
The point parameters determine the position of the parallelepiped point. This does not create a new point.
This method allows building a zone by the dimensions of these objects.
Specify objects in the Design Tree or in the graphic range, the total size of the objects will determine the size of the zone. Auxiliary planes and axes are not involved in determining the zone dimensions.
The selected objects will be highlighted in the graphic range, their names will appear in the Objects field on the Parameter Panel.
A zone phantom will appear in the graphic range. The zone is a bounding box of all objects specified.
When selecting objects in the Design Tree you can specify the entire model or its component. In this case, the dimensions of the default zone are determined by the solids and surfaces that make up the model or component. The list of object types defining the size of the zone can be changed in the Zones by object sizes.
Lists of object types for a model and its component may differ. In this case, the dimensions of the zone for the model are determined only by matching objects in the lists. If separate types of zone objects are not taken into account when specifying a component in the zone’s dimension this means that they are excluded from the list in the component configurations. If required, you can specify the required objects manually.
The Specify Details
button allows you to specify individual components at any assembly level:
•if the button is pressed, when specifying an object belonging to a component, only the component itself is selected regardless of its level,
•if the button is released, then when specifying an object, the entire first-level component containing the specified object is selected.
