Splitting a zone into several new zones is performed using the Split Zone command . For convenience, enable zone display.

Ways to invoke the command

Step-by-step instructions

1.Specify the zone to split in the Zone tree or in the graphic range. Its name will appear in the Base zone field on the Parameter Panel. Phantoms of new zones with default parameters will appear in the graphic range inside the split zone.

If required, you can create a new zone. To do this, click Create Zone button to the right of the Base Zone field. Will start process of creating a zone. After completing the process, the system will return to the process of splitting a zone.

2.Select a splitting method by pressing the corresponding button in the header of the Parameters Toolbar:

Split zone by pattern,

Divide the zone by planes.

3.Configure the splitting parameters.

•For the method Split zone by pattern, specify the required number of zones along the X, Y, Z axes in the fields Number along X, Number along Y, and Number along Z. The number of zones along at least one of the axes must be greater than 1.

•For the method Divide the zone by planes, specify the planes that divide the zone. For that purpose select the desired object(s) in the Design Tree or in the graphic range. Planes must intersect with the zone to be split. The names of the selected objects will appear in the Cutting planes field.

4.If necessary, specify the name of the split in the Name field of the Properties section.

5.To complete partitioning, click Create object button .

After performing the described actions new zones will appear inside the split zone, and their icons and names will appear in the Zone tree.
