To create a zone in a model, use the Create Zone command.

Procedure

1.Specify the method of defining the zone by clicking the desired button in the header of the Parameter Toolbar and configure parameters for the selected method. The following options are available:

Coordinate Zone the dimensions of the zone are defined by the coordinates of the parallelepiped points.

Zone according to the dimensions of objects the dimensions of the zone are defined by the dimensions of the specified objects.

After setting the parameters, a zone phantom will appear in the graphics area.

2.If required, set the coordinate system to build a zone using the controls in the Coordinate System. By default, the absolute coordinate system is selected to build a zone. The list of coordinate systems contained in the model is included in the list field CS. To set the desired coordinate system, open the list and select it.

You can create a local coordinate system by clicking the Create LCS button to the right of the SC field. The process of creating an LSC will start. After this process closes, the system will return to building the zone.

You can set up the system so that the current coordinate system is selected by default to build a zone. To do this, disable the Create zones only in the absolute CS option in the dialog called by the Settings — Parameters — System — Model Editor — Zones command.

3.If necessary, specify the name of the zone in the Name field of the Properties section.

4.To complete the build, click Create object .

After performing the described actions, the created zone will appear in the graphic range, and its icon and name will appear in the Model zone tree.
