Adding a standard product

Scroll

If the product uses standard parts (bolts, nuts, screws, etc.), you do not need to model them as unique parts. Standard product models can be inserted from the Stock Products application. This application must be installed at your workplace.

To insert a standard product into the model, invoke the Insert element command.

In the reference window that appears, find the desired stock product, select it with a mouse click and press the Select button.

The controls for specifying parameters and inserting stock product will appear in the Parameters panel.

Change the product dimensions, if required. Then indicate the product insertion point or the objects for mating in the graphic area, then click Create object button.

The inserted product will appear in the model graphic area, and its icon will be in the Design tree.

For more information about the capabilities of the Standard parts application, refer to its documentation.

Basic techniques for working with a standard item – shift and rotation, overlaying matings, setting properties, access control etc. – are the same as when working with a unique component (part, subassembly).

If necessary, you can display the composition of a standard part using the Show composition command from its context menu. After invoking the command, the icon appears next to the icon of the standard parts in the construction tree. Clicking on this icon (after which it is displayed as ) expands the list of operations included in the composition. In the case of subassemblies, the components will also be shown. To disable the display of the standard part composition, call the Hide composition command from its context menu.
