In KOMPAS-3D, the following can be constructed:

•Plain hole,

•Hole with countersink,

•Hole with counterbore,

•Hole with countersink and counterbore,

•conical hole,

•Hole from the library.

Holes can be positioned in two ways:

1.Method: By surface parameters allows you to create a hole by specifying its position on a plane or surface of any shape.

2.Method: By points on surface allows you to create one or more holes based on points or objects containing points (for example, several points in a sketch, an array of points, etc.).

The location of the holes is determined by the position of their reference points.

•Base point of the hole during placement By surface parameters  — this is a point on the surface specified for construction where the surface intersects the hole axis.

•Reference points for hole placement By points on surface are the point objects specified for the construction.

In the hole you can create a centerline and/or thread (for some holes from the library the thread is not created).

In the Design Tree, a hole is represented by an icon corresponding to its type. If the hole was created with an axis and/or a thread, the axis icon and/or the thread symbol are displayed in the Design Tree as child objects of the hole. For threads, the thread designation is specified.

If the construction results in multiple holes, their number is displayed in parentheses after the hole name in the Design Tree. The number of holes is determined by the number of points at which the generated holes intersect model objects in the specified direction. The remaining points are ignored. Consequently, the number of holes in the Design Tree may be fewer than the number of points selected for construction.
