Working with model composition variants objects |

The objects in the model composition variant are linked to the corresponding objects in the model version. In the build tree, they are marked with an icon 
, This means they are locked—and cannot be edited. The lock cannot be removed. Therefore, the geometry can only be modified using additional operations, such as direct modeling commands. This allows you to remove small edges from solids or surfaces using the Delete edge. In the assembly view, you can exclude certain components from the calculation, such as those located inside other components.

If the body (surface) of a component is changed by assembly operations, for example, mounting holes are built in it, and the result of the operations is stored in the assembly, then in the assembly detail option, the component is shown taking these changes into account. However, if the component's connection to the source is disabled in the variant and the model is rebuilt, the result of the assembly operations will no longer be displayed. |
When working with the detail option, you can create new objects that are not in the original design.
When working with an assembly composition, you can perform various actions on its components. Editing component in a separate window is available without disabling the lock. For other actions, such as changing the component's position or editing «in place», You need to unlock it using the command Cancel link command in the component's context menu. This will disconnect the component in the variant from the component in the source build.
You can restore the connection between components using the Restore link command in the component's context menu. Once the connection is restored and the model is rebuilt, any changes you've made will be lost.
