Configuring Position of the Working Segment

Scroll

A work portion of the curve is a part of the curve within which a group of points is plotted. By default, the ending vertices of the selected curve are the borders of the work portion.

You can specify indentation of borders of the work portion from the end points of the curve, if required. For this purpose, elements of the Work Portion section are used.

1.Set the Indentations toggle switch to position I (enabled). The indentation controls will appear on the Parameter Panel.

2.Select the extreme point of the work portion for which indentation is required. To do this, click the relevant button in the Segment Borders group:

Starting point,

End Point.

3.Use one of the following methods to set a new position of the selected point:

Use the mouse to drag the point to the required position on the curve.

Select a method of defining the offsetting using the Move group of buttons and set the parameter for the selected method:

In % of curve length — enter offset value in percentages in the % of curve length field,

By segment length — enter the displacement value in the units of length measurement in the Length field,

By central angle of arc — enter the offset value in angular measurement units in the Angle field. The option is available if an arc of a circle or ellipse is selected as the curve.

The Change Direction button to the right of the field where the offset value is set, allows you to set the reference direction of the point offset to the opposite — from the final vertex of the curve to the initial one or vice versa.

In the process of design, you can switch between options. The offset value is recalculated and displayed in measurement units corresponding to the selected method.

Select a point object. A point closest to the selected object will be found on the curve. The name of the point object is displayed in the Snap Point field.

4.Similarly, specify indentation for the second extreme point of the work portion.
