You can plot a point of a 3D spline or broken line Thus, the construction line should be placed parallel or perpendicular to the object.

Step-by-step instructions

1.Select a plotting option. To do that, press one of the following buttons in the Method group of buttons in the Vertex Design group:

Parallel to Object,

Perpendicular to object.

2.Set a guiding object.

If you want to use the Parallel to Object method, please specify a rectilinear object in the graphic area or in the Design Tree, or plot a vector.

To plot a vector, use the Plot Vector  button located next to the Guiding Object field. Clicking this button will start the vector plotting subprocess (see section Vector). Follow the plotting process and press the Create Object button. Then the software will go back to creating the curve.

If you want to use the Perpendicular to Object method, please specify a rectilinear or planar object in the graphic area or in the Design Tree.

After you specify the object, its name will appear in the Guiding object field, and the point plotting line will be displayed in the graphic area.

3.Set the position of the point using the following methods:

setting the offset of the created point relative to the previous point or base surface,

setting the position of the point in the graphic area (the coordinates of the point coincide with the projection of the mouse pointer to the plotting line),

selecting a Point Object.

After you specify the position of the point, a new point of the spline (broken line) appears in the graphic area, and its parameters appear in the Point parameters table.

It is not possible to plot a vertex plotting line perpendicular to a rectilinear object passing through the previous vertex of the curve, because in this case it is not possible to uniquely determine the plotting direction.
