Sorting for the documentation section is typically enabled only during the setup of the Documentation section. With this type of sorting, the last characters of the designation are taken into account, i.e. document code.
In the start of the Documentation section there are strings related to the product being specified — those whose designations (without a code) match the designations in the BOM. These lines are sorted by code, i.e. arranged in the order the codes are listed in the file graphic.kdsp.
The arrangement of the other lines of the Documentation section is determined as follows. First, the compound sorting in ascending order is applied to the designations in these lines (without code). Then inside the resulting groups with the same beginning of the lines, the sorting by code occurs according to to the graphic.kdsp file.
The sequence of codes in graphic.kdsp complies with GOST 2.102–2013.
Documents with a double code, e.g. AD–AL (approvals list) or AD–IS (information sheet), follow their parent documents.
If the graphic.kdsp file cannot be found, then BOM items are sorted alphabetically by code.

The codes and names of documents are extracted from the graphic.kds file. By default, both files — graphic.kds and graphic.kdsp — are located in the \Sys subfolder of the main system folder of KOMPAS-3D. The file format is text, so if required you can open and edit them in any text editor, see section File of codes and names and section The file defining the order of sorting by code. For example, if you need to use variable content codes such as I... (Instructions) and O... (Other documents) in the BOM, add them to the files graphic.kds and graphic.kdsp. |

The listed documents are arranged in the following order: assembly drawing, approval sheet for the assembly drawing, kinematic diagram, explanatory note, calculations.
