A BOM is filled by creating new items in it (either Base or auxiliary.

If no documents are attached to the BOM (assembly *.a3d an/or drawing *.cdw), then the items in it are created manually. These items can be edited and deleted.

If one or several documents are attached to the BOM, then data on the constituent parts of the product are retrieved from them (if this data is available in the attached documents). Based on the retrieved data, BOM items are automatically formed in the BOM document. These objects can neither be edited nor deleted. Manual creation of base items is also available in the BOM with documents connected. These items, unlike automatically created items, can be edited and deleted in the usual manner.

Besides, it is possible to insert objects from the Library of Standard Parts (see section Inserting items from the Standard Items application) or the Materials and Assortments application.

Auxiliary objects are always created manually in the specification.
