Use of marks/reference designations |
Scroll |
Marks/reference designations are alphanumeric designations of objects depicted in drawings. Marks/reference designations can be considered as analogs of designations of positions that contain a mark, i.e. text before the reference number.
The following commands are used for creating marks/reference designations in graphic documents:
•Mark/reference designation with leader,
•Mark/reference designation without leader,
•Mark/reference designation on line.
BOM items may have the mark in the form of the text before the reference number. Together with the number, the mark is placed in the Position column. The mark is set for the BOM section and is automatically assigned to each base item of this section.
Follow these steps to enable the use of the marks in the BOM section:
1.Run the command Settings — Configure the specification
.
2.In the BOM settings dialog on the screen, activate the Sections section.
3.Select the required section from the list of sections and scroll the list of parameters in the right part of the dialog down to the parameter Mark.
To enable the use of the mark, in the list Mark select the line Yes and enter the mark text in the field on the right side.
If the use of mark is enabled, the list Independent numbering of positions becomes available. If the row Yes is selected, the numbering of item positions in the section will be restarted from the number specified as the starting position.
4.Close the specifications options dialog by pressing the Apply button.
The mark will be assigned to all items of the selected section. It will also be added to the new items of this section.

Blocks Additional BOM sections Can have their own marking and independent section numbering. Settings of the marking and numbering of positions for the block can be configured in the section. Blocks of additional sections BOM settings dialog |
Like the reference number, the mark/reference designation can be assigned to the BOM item by including it in the structure of this item. As a result, the marks/reference designations in the drawing will receive the reference numbers and marks from the BOM. This will occur when the BOM is synchronized with the drawing.
|
Digits in the marking/position designation can be the reference number and also perform other functions, e.g. they can show the element number in the project. Therefore, the transfer of reference numbers from the BOM to the marks/reference designations may be inadvisable. To cancel the assignment of new numbers to the BOM items, disable the calculation of positions in the BOM. As a result, items will be sorted according to the rules specified in the style, but the reference numbers will remain the same. A manual change of number will be transferred both from the drawing to the BOM and from the BOM to the drawing. |
When attaching the mark/reference designation to the BOM item, the designation mark is replaced with the mark of the BOM item, while manual changing of the mark in the drawing will be disabled.
|
Unlike the reference number, the same mark/reference designation cannot be attached to several BOM items. |
