Reference Numbers in the assembly model

Scroll

Like in the drawing, positional leaders can be created in the assembly.

Since the assembly has a clear structure, positions will be automatically included in the BOM items created based on the properties of the components. The following rules apply.

If positional leaders indicate different components of the same subassembly, then all these leader lines are included in one BOM item (corresponding to the subassembly) and will receive the same reference number.

If different branches of the positional leader line point to different components of the assembly, then this leader line is included in several BOM items (corresponding to components), their reference numbers will be placed on the leader line landings.
The same happens if different components are specified as items for one leader (without creating new branches).

If there are several inserts of the same component in the assembly, then duplicate BOM items will be twins.

If inserts are indicated by different positional leader lines, each of them is included in one of twins. Since the reference numbers of the duplicate items are the same, the inserts receive the same reference number.

If the inserts are indicated by different branches of the same positional leader line, then this leader line is included in each of twins.

To make sure that positional leaders are included in the relevant BOM items, check the geometry of these objects.

Positional leaders that are part of the BOM items are marked in the Design Tree with characters "SP" in round brackets. The characters are added before the name of the leader, for example: (SP) Position designation: 5.

Positional leader lines are transferred to the associative assembly drawing together with other designations. If the positional line–leader was included in the BOM item in the assembly, then it is included in the composition of the same BOM item in the drawing.
