The BOM parameters and settings can be divided into seven groups.
1.BOM detailing:
•Sheet size.
•Marquees.
•A specially created title block (form) of the first and subsequent sheets of the BOM.
2.General settings:
•Presence or absence of the BOM link to the source document.
•Whether items can be calculated (on or off).
•Calculation of zones (enabled or disabled).
•Automatic line-break of note text (on or off).
•Displaying the number of sheets of the same format in the column Note (enabled or disabled).
•Reference number of the first BOM item.
•BOM building direction (top down or bottom up).
•The number of versions of the specified product.
3.BOM form columns.
The number of columns corresponds to the number of columns in the BOM table (which is part of the title block). For each column of the form the following shall be specified:
•Name.
•Type.
•Number of column of this type.
•Type of data in the column.
•Linked/not linked with the document properties connected to an item (for columns with type User).
•Presence or absence of single-line texts alignment in this column by the bottom line of the BOM item.
If the data type in the column is an integer or a real number, the option of summing up the data in this column can be turned on or off (with or without multiplying the data by the number in the column Quantity).
The settings of each column are default for all BOMs.
4.Additional columns.
The list of additional columns is formed by the user. For each of them the following shall be specified:
•Name.
•Type.
•Number of column of this type.
•Type of data in the column.
•Linked/not linked with the document properties connected to a BOM item.
When setting up an additional column containing numbers, you can enable the summing of the values of additional parameters in this column (with or without multiplication by the number in the Quantity column).
The settings for each additional column are default for all BOMs.
5.Sections. This is the most extensive block of settings.
The list of sections is formed by the user.
You can enable or disable splitting a BOM into sections, display of section headers and block headers of nested sections in the BOM, and select the column where headers will be located.
For each section the following shall be specified:
•Name.
•Number.
•The number of reserve text lines contained.
•Whether positioning in this section is enabled or disabled.
•Ability to attach geometry to section items.
•Location of the section — from a new sheet or arbitrary.
•Presence or absence of the section mark. In the mark is present, you can specify its text and enable/disable the independent numbering of section items.
•Document code display enabled/disabled. This setting determines whether the code of the document connected to the BOM item is visible in the table, and whether the document code can be set by manually entering the text part of the BOM item.
•Sorting of items in the section enabled or disabled. If enabled, you can specify the columns by which sorting will be performed, and the type of sorting in each of columns.
•Division into subsections, list of subsections.
•The use of nested section blocks enabled or disabled.
•Method of filling columns in the section (only manual filling or option to transfer data from connected documents).
You can set the columns of the form and additional columns in this section so that the rules for filling them out are different from the default rules (set when configuring the main columns and additional columns):
•Enable or disable the filling of each specific field in the section.
•Change the type of value in the column.
If the use of nested section blocks is enabled, the list of blocks should be created. For each block the following shall be specified:
•Name.
•Number.
•Whether the block is used by default.
•The way the block is displayed — from a new sheet or arbitrary.
•List of available sections in the block.
6.Versions
This group of settings is intended to set the rules for the formation and display of version numbers (both for the item being specified and the BOM items).
Here you can:
•Enable or disable the display of version block headers.
•Select a way to display the block — from the new sheet or arbitrary.
•Enable or disable the automatic generation of the labels of absence of variable data in versions (only for Option A group BOMs).
•Enable or disable the link between the product version numbers obtained from the attached document and this document.
•Enable or disable the insertion of dashes before the item version number.
•Determine how the designations of version items should be displayed (full designations or version numbers only).
•Determine whether the reference numbers of version items should be ascending.
7.Blocks of additional sections.
You can enable or disable the use of additional sections blocks in a BOM.
If the use of additional section blocks is enabled, then you can configure the display of block headers in BOM.
The list of blocks is formed by the user. For each block the following shall be specified
•Name.
•Number.
•List of sections.
•Whether the block is used by default.
•Placement of the block — from a new sheet or arbitrary.
•Block mark used/not used. In the mark is present, you can specify its text and enable/disable the independent numbering of items.
Some of these parameters and settings can be modified for each specific existing BOM. This is discussed in the Settings of the existing BOM.
You can change other settings and parameters (for example, place the items of the current BOM on another form) only by changing the style of the BOM to the style containing these parameters and settings. This is discussed in the Changing the style of an existing BOM.
If the BOM style with the necessary parameters and settings (for example, a custom BOM sheet) does not already exist, you can create it yourself. This is discussed in the Creating a custom BOM style.
Ways for changing the appearance and properties of an existing BOM (changing the style and setting the BOM) can be combined (for example, changing the style of the BOM, and then setting its parameters that should differ from the default parameters of this style).
