Subordinate relative to documents are detailing library files, files of attribute types, line styles, hatchings and texts, styles of specifications.

Use of these files, i.e. application of detailing, styles, attribute types stored in them is possible at several workplaces simultaneously. Moreover, it is just this approach that allows to maintain consistency of documents created at different workplaces.

The possibility of editing subordinate files already in use at one of the workstations on this or another workstation depends on the configuration settings of KOMPAS-3D on that workstation. This setting is performed in the file access rights dialog (see section Set Access Rights) using the Access to Linked Files list. It contains two options:

•Enable reading.

This option means that at other workplaces it will be possible to use only busy subordinate files. Besides, other users will be able to copy subordinate files.

•Read and save enable.

This option means that at other workplaces it will be possible to not only use but edit busy subordinate files: creation, changing and deletion of detailing, attribute types and styles.

If somebody changes the subordinate file you are using, you will receive messages (see section Control Over Changes in Documents and Files).
