Copying and transfer of views |

KOMPAS-3D allows you to perform copying of views within one drawing, as well as copying and moving views between drawings.
To copy a view within the same drawing, use mouse or the clipboard. Copying with the mouse is described in section Copying objects using the mouse. To copy a view through the clipboard, select the view, place it into the clipboard, and then insert it from the clipboard.

If you want the resulting copy to be symmetrical to the source view, use the Mirror. A new view symmetrical to the specified will be created in the drawing. |
Transfer or copying of a view with all the objects inside into another drawing is carried out only by means of the clipboard.

While copying a view into the current drawing, the system creates a new view and assigns the first vacant number to it.
While copying or transferring a view into another drawing, the number of the created view is determined as follows. If the drawing into which a view is inserted contains a view with the same number, then the first vacant number is assigned to the new view. If there is no such view, the number of the new view is the same as that for the initial view.

If necessary, you can insert into the drawing an image from a view of another drawing by creating a special object — a View insert. |
Specialities of copying or transferring a non-associative view
While copying or transferring non-associative views through the clipboard, note the following specialty.
If the drawing into which a view is inserted contains a view with the same number, the system checks if it is possible to merge views. To merge views, you have to meet the condition of full coincidence of:
•numbers,
•coordinates of datum points,
•angles of rotation,
•scales.
If the condition is met, the views are merged – the contents of a view from the clipboard are inserted into the existing view.
If merging of views is impossible, a new view to which the first vacant number is assigned is created.
