Transforming a regular image into a parametric one and vice versa

Converting a regular image into parametric

To make an image parametric you should add constraints to all its objects.

Some of the objects' parametric constraints (points coincidence, horizontality, verticality, parallelism, and perpendicularity) can be applied semi-automatically. To that end, use the Add Constraints.

Other types of constraints should be added to non-parametrized objects manually.

To make dimensions, hatches, surface finishes and datum designations associated with geometric objects, you can specify other base curves and points in the edit mode of each of these objects. Another method is deleting old non-parametric objects and setting them again (especially recommended for hatches in case of complex hatched areas configuration). In both cases, the parametric mode By default, it is enabled.

Transformation of a parametric image into a regular one

To transform a parametric image in a sketch, drawing, or fragment into a regular one, do the following.

1.Select all objects.

2.Call the Delete All Constraints command.

It is recommended to save and close the document after removing all constraints from objects and then open it again.
