Pattern Properties along Radial Direction

Scroll

When building an array by concentric grid, you can specify number of instances and spacing in radial direction.

Array building scheme...

Elements for setting grid parameters for radial direction are located in the group Radial Direction in Array parameters section of Parameter Panel.

If the axis of the array passes through, the group of elements Radial Direction is not shown on the Parameters bar. Base point of the base instance array. Details...

To set the parameters, do the following.

1.Set the number of instances (including the base instance) located on a grid ray. To do this, enter the required value in the Instances by Direction field. The amount set defines number of grid circles.

2.Set the spacing in radial direction. In this case spacing is the distance between adjacent array instances which are located on a grid ray.

Elements for setting spacing – the group of buttons Distance between and the Distance field – appear on the Parameter Panel when number of instances is greater than one.

To set the spacing in radial direction, do the following.

Choose option of setting a pitch with buttons of Distance between group.

In this case spacing is the distance between adjacent array instances in the radial direction (i.e. the distance between adjacent grid circles). This option is convenient when you need to place a certain number of instances with a given spacing between each other.

For the radial direction, the distance between the first and last instances (i.e., the distance between the first and last circles of the grid) is specified. This option is convenient when you need to place certain number of instances on a fixed length segment.

Enter the required distance value in the Distance field.

3.If you want to build an array in radial direction in reverse (to the center instead of from the center, and vice versa), click the Change Direction  button located to the right of the Distance field.
