In the detailing of a text document, a title block is included (see section Title block), external and internal marquee. Besides, the detailing stores the sizes of text fields – distances from the internal borders to the text boundaries. Layouts of sheets are visible on the screen if the display of detailing is enabled (see section Display of detailing).

Detailing types provided with KOMPAS-3D are stored in libraries – *.lyt files located in the \Sys subfolder of the system's main folder. Primary detailing library which is used on creation of documents – graphic.lyt. It is also possible to generate user libraries of layouts. For more details on working with document layouts, see section Title blocks and document detailing.

Since a detailing is assigned to each document, you don’t have to draw a marquee and table of the title block.

By default, the first sheet of the text document created without a template (see section Document templates), has detailing Text Construction Document. First Sheet. GOST 2.104–2006. Even and odd sheets have the detailing of Text design document. Subsequent sheet. GOST 2.104-2006.The format of a text document by default is A4.

The text document created based on a template has layouts and format of sheets which conform to the template.

Regardless of the method of creation of the document, you can at any time change the detailing of its sheet and format.

Use the following procedure.

1.In the Document Tree, (See Fig.) expand the list of sections if it is collapsed.

To the left of section names, there are fields in which the section properties displayed as icons are located.

2.Click the line which corresponds to the section whose parameters need to be edited.

In the Format field, an icon showing the current format of the section sheets is displayed.

To change the format, click the icon and select the required format from the list that appears.

The last item in the list is Custom Format . When selected, a Format Setup dialog appears, where you can specify any size of the sheet.

In the Multiplicity field, an icon showing the current multiplicity of the sheet format is displayed.

To change multiplicity, click the icon and select the required multiplier from the list that appeared.

In the Orientation field, an icon showing the current orientation of sheets of the section is displayed.

To change it, click this icon. The icon will also change.

If the sheet has custom sizes, it is impossible to change its multiplicity and orientation.

You can change the format, multiplicity, and orientation of sheets using the Sheets Size... command, accessed from the section's context menu.

3.To change the detailing of sheets of the section, fetch the context menu on it and select the Detailing Parameters command.

4.In the dialog that appears, select the layouts for the first, even and odd sheets of the section, or enable use of a uniform detailing for all sheets of the section and set it. If necessary, you can change the detailing library.

5.Click OK to close the dialog.

Detailing is applied to sheets of the section. The first, even and odd sheet of the section is determined on the base of the actual sequence of sheets. It does not depend on the sheet numbers displayed in the title block.
