Hints on entering values in the Parameter Panel field:

Explicit task.
Click in the required field, enter the number and press <Enter>. To increase/decrease the current value by one, rotate the mouse wheel forward/backward or press the keys <>/<>. If you hold the <Ctrl> key, the value will change with the pitch equals to 10, and if you hold the <Shift> key, it will change with the pitch equals to 100.

Entering an expression.
Performed similarly to entering parameter value: click in the field with the mouse, enter the expression, and press <Enter>. The field will display the expression result. For example, to calculate the length of a circle with 20 mm radius you need to enter the expression 2*M_PI*20. To learn about expression syntax, see section Syntax of expressions.

Reading out values from existing objects.

Using geometrical calculator. The essence of its work is to determine, by drawing or by model, some value (specified curve length, angle between two straight lines etc.) and input it into the field for the parameter the calculator was invoked for. For example, using the geometrical calculator you can calculate the edge length and use it as the extrusion distance. More details about the geometrical calculator...

Copying a parameter value from already existing object in the document and having the same type as the one being created/edited.

Commands of the geometrical calculator and parameter value copying are located in the menu which is called using the button to the right from the parameter name on the Panel.

You can use the described hints for the parameters with different states: fixed, active, construction (see Table Parameter state icons).
