Right after creation of a version (variant) of the model it immediately becomes current automatically. In Tree of versions and variants a check mark appears next to it. Objects of the current version/variant are displayed in the graphic area of the model and in the Design Tree.

To manually make the required version or variant current, use one of the following methods:

•In the Versions and Variants tree – click on the field to the left of the required version/variant (this field contains the icon of the current object);

•In the Design Tree of the model or the Design Tree of the current version/variant (displayed in the lower part of the Tree Panel in Tree: versions mode):

•For a version — from the context menu of the root element of the Tree, invoke the Current Version command and specify the required version in the displayed list.

•For a variant — from the context menu of the root element of the Tree, invoke the Current option command and specify the desired variant in the displayed list (the list contains only variants of the version which is currently active; the By Default entry corresponds to this version; if you need to select a variant of another version, first make that version current).

•On the Parameter Toolbar — select the root element of the Tree to display its properties on the Parameter Panel, then:

•For a version — from the dropdown list Version, select the required version of the model;

•For the variant — from the dropdown list Variant, select the desired model variant (the list is available if the current model execution has variants, it contains only the variants of this execution; if you need to select a variant of another execution, first make that execution current).

•In Document manager (only for versions) — when the Versions element is active, select the desired version row and click the Set as Current button on the Manager's toolbar or call the Current command from the context menu (the indication of the current version in the Manager is the yellow color of the version icon).

You can also specify the current version/variant when opening a model with versions/variants. To select a version, in the file open dialog expand the Variation list and specify the required one. If variants are created for the selected version in the model, a dropdown list Variant will also be displayed in the dialog. Select the required variant from this list (if no variant selection is necessary, leave the selected line By default).

When working with an assembly model, you can change the version/variant not only of the model itself but also of its components. To do this, you need to start the Process of editing properties for the required component and unfold the Source section in the Parameters Panel. The remaining actions are the same as in the Open File dialog. You can also change the version/variant when changing the source of the component.
