General tolerances in KOMPAS-3D are set based on four classes of accuracy according to GOST 30893.1-2002 (ISO 2768-1-89).

Enabling the use of general tolerances and selection of the required accuracy class is performed in the general tolerances setup dialog. By default, assignment of general tolerances is enabled.

A general tolerance is assigned automatically to all dimensions parameters which may have a tolerance, except the following:

a dimension or parameter with individual tolerance or the Nominal (framed) (for more details see section Assigning a tolerance,

the angular parameter of a 3D curve, point, or construction plane,

the linear dimension or linear parameter whose modulus is in the range [0...0.5),

the angular parameter whose value is equal to 0,

the angular parameter of rotation operation whose value is equal to 360.

Determination of the maximum deviations of the values of parameters and dimensions using general tolerances is performed using data contained in the file of deviations.

According to the standard, the maximum deviations of parameters of blunted edges differ from deviations of other linear parameters at the same range of values and the accuracy class. In KOMPAS-3D, general tolerances for all linear parameters are assigned using one table of the standard. You can assign individual tolerances to the parameters of blunted edges.
