Editing and deleting objects is available:

in independent versions — always,

in dependent versions — if connection is disabled between this object and the object in the source version.

In a dependent assembly version, you can edit component in a separate window, without disconnecting it from the component of the original version. Other actions, such as editing in place, changing component position and others, are not available with the link enabled.

By default, objects of a dependent version are associated with the corresponding objects of the original version. Objects of a dependent version are marked with the  icon in the Design Tree.

If you want to change or delete any object of the dependent version, undo its link with the object of the original version. To do this call the Cancel link command from the context menu. The object will be available for editing and deletion, and the Restore link command will appear in the context menu. This command is used to restore the link between objects.

After the connection is restored and the model is rebuilt, the dependent version object becomes identical to the corresponding object of the original version. Changes made to the dependent version object before the connection is restored are not saved.

In some cases you may need to change the objects of dependent versions while preserving their links with the objects of the original versions. You can do this using variables (see section Using variables in versions).

If the version you edit has dependent versions and the link between objects is preserved, all object changes will be exported from the source version to the dependent version.

Object deletion is passed automatically while object changes need to be passed using the Rebuilding a Model command . You can invoke the command once to rebuild all versions that require rebuilding.
