Editing Component Geometry in a Separate Tab |
Scroll |
To start editing a component in a separate tab containing only this component (without other components), select the needed component in the Design Tree and invoke the Edit Component in Window
command.
This will open the source file of the component (you can also open this file as usual, with the File – Open... command).
Make the necessary changes to the model and save it. Then close the tab of the component or go to the tab of the model containing it.
|
You can save the edited component in a file with another name or in another disk location, if needed. The specifics of saving is described below. |
After making changes to the component, you need to rebuild a model.
Saving the component under a different name
You can save the edited component in a file with another name or in another disk location if needed.
If both the file of the model the component is inserted into and the source file of the component are simultaneously opened, then when you try to save the component file under a different name or in another folder, the system prompts you to change the reference to the component.
•If you want the model to reference the component file with a new name, click References in documents should point to the new file. This may be necessary, for example, to include the edited component in the model and save its original version.
•If you want the model to reference the component file with the same name, click Keep references without changing. This may be necessary, for example, to keep the edited component without sending its changes to the model that contains it. Note that in this case, after you finish editing the component, you should close the model including it without saving.

Links are changed only in the currently opened models. In models that have links to the same component file but are closed at the time of saving it under a different name, the links do not change. |
