Components are independent models inserted into the current model.
To change the geometry of a component, you need:
•either open it for editing in a separate tab,
•or go in the context editing mode this component.
After that, you can modify objects in the component by any means and/or create new ones.
Note that editing in a separate tab is available for a component that is a part, subassembly or a blank part inserted by external reference. A local part or a local blank part can be edited only in the context of the current model.
Having finished editing the component, close its tab or exit the context editing mode. After making changes to the components you need to Rebuilding a Model.
|
Rebuilding a model which consists of many components may take significant amount of time. Therefore, if you need to edit multiple components of a complex model, it is reasonable to rebuild it only once, after making all changes (and not every time you edit a particular component). |
You can also Edit properties of the component. The following actions are available:
•changing component properties, including color and optical properties,
•setting the CMP calculation parameters for the component and performing the calculation,
•selecting another source file for the component,
•recalculation of dimensions for the component based on assigned tolerances.
In addition, you can Change the position of a component in the model.
