Editing mode: surface by grid of points |
Scroll |
There are two modes available when plotting/modifying a surface by grid of points: Creation and Edit. In the Create mode, new points of the grid are consecutively defined.
To enter the surface editing mode, please set the Create/Edit toggle switch in the top of the Parameter Panel to Edit. This toggle switch is available if an integer number of rows has been set, starting from 2. In the surface editing mode, you can do the following:
•change position and weight of individual points,
•edit rows of points.
•save point parameters to a file.
For description of methods of editing, see below. All the modifications of the parameters of the surface are applied to its phantom in the graphic area.
Changing position and weight of individual points
To edit a single point, press the Single Point
button above the point parameters table.
Select a point to edit in the table or in the graphic area using one of the following methods:
•select a new point object,
•drag the point in the graphic area,
•change the construction method of a point. More details on editing a point...
To change the weight of a point (for a surface By poles), set the value in the Weight field on the Parameter Panel.
To edit a row of points by direction U or V, take the following steps.
1.Press the Row along U direction
or Series by direction V
button above the point parameters table of the grid.
2.Select a row in the parameters table by clicking any of its points. The points of the selected row will be highlighted in the graphics area and in the parameters panel.
•To add another row in the same direction, click Insert before the selected row
or Insert after the selected row
. A new row will appear in the grid of points. The points of the new row will be highlighted in the graphics area and in the parameters panel.
The points of the added row are considered created using the Point by coordinates. You can edit any points in the row using the above methods.
•To change the weight of a point in a row (for a surface By poles), set the value in the Weight cell in the parameters table.
•To delete a row of points, click Delete
. After the points are deleted, the object is rearranged according to the position of the remaining points.
Saving point parameters to a file
You can save the data from the parameters table to a file. For this purpose, there is the Save to file
button.
When you press this button, a file saving dialog will appear. Enter the file name and specify the desired type and select a path to save the file.
