Setting points for surface by a grid of points |
Scroll |
You can define the point for plotting the surface in the following ways:
•in the Building Tree or in the graphical area, specify separate point objects, group of points or array of points;
•select the location of the point in the graphic area using your mouse;
•enter the coordinates of the point in the Coordinates field in the Grid Point Coordinates group of controls on the Parameter Panel,
•plot special point, click the Draw point button to place a point next to the Snap point field.
When specifying a point object or a specially constructed point between this object (point) and the obtained surface point, it automatically generate (similar to the spline operation by points) an associative link. The associative link is marked with special icons in the cells of the Connection column of the point parameters table. The icons and their values are shown in the first two rows of the table of links and constraints of points.
You should select or create points in order of their placement in the series.
After you set the points of the first series, press the Finish Row
button above the parameter table of points. After you press the button, the button will disappear from the Parameter Panel, and the number of points in the second series and all subsequent series will be equal to the number of points in the first series.
|
The number of series and points in each series is determined automatically if you've selected a group of points by surface or an array of points by a parallelogram grid, provided that the number of instances along each axis is not 1. |
Select or create points of other rows.
The number or series and the number of points in each series is displayed in the Grid of points field in the Surface parameters group of controls. The parameters of the points are displayed in the table in the Grid Point Coordinates group of controls.
The phantom of the new surface, the grid and the arrows of directions U and V are displayed in the graphic area.
You can cancel setting one or several recent points by pressing the Undo action
button above the point parameter table of the network.
•You can plot a surface by the parameters of points saved in a data file. To do that, use Read from file
button above the parameter table. The system interprets the numbers saved in the file as point coordinates in the Cartesian coordinate system which coincides with the surface coordinate system.
This button becomes available immediately after you run the command, i. e., if no grid points are defined.
•You can plot a grid of points using one of the existing surfaces of the model. To do this, use Point Network by Surface
button above the Parameter Table. Details...
