During the operation of the KOMPAS-3D system, in addition to the system’s own files (which are located in the \Bin subfolder of the main system folder), so-called system files and folders are also used. They include:
•configuration files which store information on setting system parameters, its window and new documents (see section Configuration Files),
•default folders for files of certain types (style and detailing libraries, templates etc.).
Paths to system files and folders are defined on loading KOMPAS-3D and are stored as environment variable values of KOMPAS-3D until the end of the session. The order of determination of paths to system files and folders is described in section Definition of paths to system files and folders. KOMPAS-3D environment variables.
If necessary, you can specify paths to the system files and folders in the KOMPAS.ini file (see section KOMPAS.ini file).
At any moment while working with the system, you can get information on the current location of the file KOMPAS.ini, system files, and folders in the file location viewing dialog (see section Position). With this dialog you can create or edit the KOMPAS.ini file.
|
The newly created or edited KOMPAS.ini file will be used in the next system working session with KOMPAS-3D. |
The data not related to the system setup, but required to operate the KOMPAS system are stored in the register. That is the following information:
•information about the user,
•list of recently opened files,
•the current display resolution (this data is necessary for a snap of the main system window).
|
Settings of parameters of the current document (the settings made on the Current document tab of the general setup dialog) are stored in the document itself. Owing to that, they do not change on document transfer from one workplace to another. |
