Data transfer from documents to BOM
•The following will be transferred from the attached documents to the BOM:
•values of the product constituent parts properties required for creating BOM items;
•designation of the drawing zones containing the reference numbers (for this purpose the Calculate zones option should be enabled when setting the BOM);
•values of the Designation and Name properties of the product required to fill in the title block of the BOM (from the first document in the list of attached documents).
•The following will be transferred to BOM from the documents attached to BOM items:
•product properties required to create the corresponding items;
•data on the sheet size of the attached drawings and BOMs.
For data changes to be transferred to the BOM, these changes must be saved in the document.
In case of creating a BOM from an assembly, note the following when transferring data to BOM items from automatically attached documents (the model-source of the component is automatically attached to the object, as well as drawings and BOMs created using this model):
•If the changes affect only the properties of the component, not its geometry, then they will be transferred to the BOM immediately after saving the document file, without re-arranging the assembly. A message appears on the screen indicating that the BOM has been updated. For example, a change in the designation and name of a part included in an assembly, or the format of a detailed drawing will be displayed in the BOM immediately after saving the part or drawing file.
•If the changes affect the component geometry, then after returning to the BOM a dialog box for opening the assembly will be displayed.
The Yes button in this prompt opens the assembly; you can rebuild and save it. After returning to the BOM it will be updated.
The No button allows postponing the assembly rebuild; in this case, the BOM will not be changed. If necessary, before pressing the No button, you can include the Don't ask me this again option in the prompt. This way, the prompt will not appear again for the duration of the work with the current specification.
In other cases, i.e. if the BOM was created from a drawing, not from an assembly, or if the document was attached to the BOM object manually, not automatically, the transfer of data from the documents attached to the BOM items is performed immediately after the documents are saved.

If documents linked to the BOM or its objects were closed when the BOM was opened, the system checks whether the attached documents were changed. If there were changes, you will be prompted to rebuild a BOM. |
Data transfer from BOM to documents
•Reference numbers are transferred from the BOM to the documents attached to it. Data transfer occurs when the BOM is saved. If necessary, use the Set Ref.Nos. command in the BOM to recalculate the numbers.
In order for the numbers obtained from the BOM to be displayed on the landings of the positional leaders in the document, positional leader lines should be included in the composition of the corresponding BOM items.
•Nothing is transferred from the BOM items to the documents attached to them.
•Sections and items created manually in the BOM always remain in this BOM. They are not transferred to any of the documents attached to the BOM.
