Procedure of building an array by sample |
Scroll |
To build an array of components whose instances number and positions are determined by an already existing array, use the Array by Sample
command.
Select components for building an array, select the array to serve as a sample of instance position, check whether set values are correct using a phantom and complete the operation.
Selecting components
Specify source components for construction of an array in the Design Tree or in the graphic region of a model. Names of the specified components will appear in the Components field.
Array sample selection
The sample array may be an array of any type but an array by sample.
|
If the array-sample is a mirrored array, then the instance of the created array has a left-handed coordinate system (see section). Right-Side and Left-Side Coordinate Systems). |
To select the sample array, activate the Master array field in the Array parameters section and select the required array in Design Tree or in the graphic region of the model. In the graphic region an array is selected by clicking one of its instances (except the base instance), and in Design Tree – by clicking any of its instances or the Array object.
After choosing the sample array its name is added into the corresponding field, and a phantom of the array being created appears in the graphic region.
Setting method of instance placement
By default, instances of the sample array are placed relative to the component being copied in the same manner as instances of the sample array are placed relative to their base instance. base instance Master Array.
If needed, you can select another placement method – Relative placement. In this case, instances of the array being created are placed relative to corresponding instances of the sample array as the copied component is placed relative to the selected instance of the sample array. To use this option, set the Relative Placement toggle switch to position I (enabled).

Extra options for array construction
When constructing a array by sample, following options are available.
•Managing number of instances using Allow for nesting option.
If the option is disabled, number of instances of the array being created is equal to number of instances in the sample array.
If this option is enabled, then in case master array has nesting (i.e. source object for its construction, in turn, is another array), the number of instances in the array being created will be number of instances in the sample array multiplied by number of instances in the nested array.
•Managing number of instances using Allow for remote ones option.
If this option is enabled, the array being created will not include instances that correspond to the remote instances of the sample array; if it is disabled, it will include them.
•Setting array name and instance surface properties instances using the elements of the Properties section.
Completing the operation
To complete creation of the array, press the Create Object
.
After performing the specified actions, the created array appears in the graphic area of the model, and the respective icon
appears in the Design Tree.
To complete operation of the command, click Complete
