Connecting Add-Ons and libraries to the configuration

Scroll

To add an add-on or a library to the configuration, use:

for add-ons — the Add-ons - Add add-ons... command of the Main Menu <{%PRODUCT_NAME%}>,

for libraries — the Add element libraries button, located on the Library Panel (see section Using Libraries of Elements).

After running the command (clicking the button) a file selection dialog for Add-Ons/libraries appears on the screen. Specify the required files and click Open.

The selected add-ons will be added to the Add-ons menu, and the selected libraries will be added to the list of libraries displayed in the Libraries Bar.

Another way to add add-ons and libraries is using the Configurator. The adding commands are located in the Structuremenu.

In addition, in the Configurator dialog you can perform other actions with add-ons and libraries.

Please note the following concerning the adding of libraries to configuration:

The Register Add-Ons... command not only adds the selected add-ons into the configuration but connects them as well, i. e. provides obtaining licensed for these add-ons. If the Add-On is successfully connected, a message appears on the screen.

Subsequently, the add-on can be disabled — at the same time, the add-on is not excluded from the configuration, but the license for its use is released and can be obtained at another workplace.

The library will be added provided that its identifier (ID) is unique. Otherwise, i.e. if the ID of the added library matches the ID of any previously added library, the library will not be added: its name will not be displayed in the list of libraries.

The coincidence of IDs can occur if one library was created based on another library, being its modification. In this case you should create a new ID for the added library as follows.

1.Run the Library Editor with the Add-ons — Utilities — Library Editor KOMPAS-3D command.

2.Open the library file in the editor.

3.Call the Library — Library Information command from the Editor menu.

4.In the dialog box that appears, click Generate, and then click Apply.

5.Save the library file and close the Editor.

The library edited in this manner can be added to the configuration.

For working with libraries, unlike add-ons, no connection is required.
