To move a face, use the Move Faces command.

Step-by-step instructions

1.In the graphic area, select the face (faces) of the solid to move. The name of the selected object is displayed in the Faces field on the Parameters toolbar.

2.If necessary, enable the Select tangent faces option. In this case, not just the selected face will be moved, but the entire group of adjacent faces, which are joined to each other smoothly or tangentially.

3.Set the face movement value in the Distance field on the Parameter Panel.

4.You can reverse the direction of face movement relative to the surface of the solid using the Change direction button to the right of the Distance field.

5.If necessary, change the name of the face displacement operation in the Properties section on the Parameter Panel.

6.To complete operation, click Create object .

The selected face will be moved within the model, and the corresponding icon .

7.To complete operation of the command, click Finish .

The command will not be performed if the moved faces do not form a closed surface with the other solid faces.

Tips

You can specify the face movement value using a defining point or the geometrical calculator.
