Merging components |

Merging parts in the assembly allows you to "glue" two or more existing parts, making them one. For example, it may be necessary to combine the engineered parts into a single cast frame, based on the new technological requirements arising in the design process. The merged assembly parts should intersect with each other or have coincident faces.
Create a new part in the assembly using the Create Part
command or Create Local Part
. After the system switches to the in-place editing mode, the part merging operation will become available.
The command for merging parts is Join Components
.
Step-by-step instructions
1.Specify the parts to merge in the graphic area or in the Design Tree.
The names of the merged parts are displayed in the Components field on the Parameters toolbar. In the graphic area, the parts are highlighted.
|
Merging parts is possible if each of them contains a single solid. Multisolid parts cannot be merged. |
2.If necessary, specify the operation name in the Properties section.
3.To complete merging the parts, click Create Object
.
The new part solid appears in the graphic area; in the Design Tree branch corresponding to the new part — the icon for the combine components operation
and its name.
4.To complete operation of the command, click Finish
.
Having completed the creation of the part, edit it if necessary, or exit the in-place editing mode.
The methods of working with the resulting solid do not differ from the methods of working with any other part. You can glue and cut conceptual masses, create fillets, slopes, etc. If necessary, you can hide or exclude from calculation the parts, the joining of which forms a new part.
