Moving model objects between layers

Follow these steps to move the model object to another layer.

1.Select the desired object(s) in the Design Tree or in the graphic range.

2.Call the Move to layer command.

3.The list of selected objects is displayed in the Objects field of the Parameter Panel. If you want to add objects to the list, specify them. The names of the specified objects appear in the list.

Consider the following when specifying objects:

absolute coordinate system cannot be transferred since it is always located on the system layer;

if an operation is selected, then the whole solid in which this operation is included will be transferred to another layer.

4.Specify the layer on which you want to place the selected objects. For this purpose select the row with the name of the desired layer in the Layer list.

If required, you can create a new layer. To do this, press the Add button to the right of the Layers list.

To change the name of a layer, select the row of the desired layer in the list and click Edit button to the right of the list (the button appears after selecting the layer in the list). The layer name will be available for editing.

5.Press Create Object button.

After performing the operations described above the selected objects will be moved to the specified layer.

You can quickly change the layer of a single object in the following way. Select an object in the Design Tree or in the graphics area and call the Object layer command from the context menu. The command menu contains the names of existing layers in the model (if their total number does not exceed ten), and for a component within an assembly — also a line. To Source Layers. The object layer is ticked in the list. To change the layer, select the required row in the menu.

The property of the object located on the layer will be the same as the property of the object if the property of the object is set to By layer on the Parameter Panel. Details...
