Constraints and degrees of freedom |

Setup of the parameters for displaying the icons showing constraints and degrees of freedom is performed in the Constraints and degrees of freedomdialog. The dialog appears on the screen after fetching the command Settings — Parameters... — System — Graphic Editor — Constraints and degrees of freedom.
The setup made in this dialog applies to sketches and graphic documents.

Constraints |
The group of controls allows to customize the display of special icons designating constraints, superimposed on graphic objects, as well as additional elements that are displayed along with certain symbols. |

Color |
The button allows to change the color of displaying additional elements such as dashed lines, dots, crosses, and others. After pressing the button, a standard color selection dialog appears on the screen. |

Special icons indicating constraints are colored in dark purple or light purple, depending on the theme of KOMPAS-3D window. The color of icons cannot be customized. |

Always show dimensions with variables, fixed dimensions and points |
The option allows to control the displaying of the following objects: •variables assigned to dimensions, •frames around fixed dimensions, •symbols of fixed points. If the option is enabled, these objects are shown on the screen regardless of whether the constraint view mode is enabled. If the option is disabled, these objects are shown only in the constraints display mode. |

Display restriction icons for selected objects |
This option allows to view constraint icons for a selected object, if the constraint display mode is disabled. If this option is enabled, selecting an object on the screen displays icons for the constraints imposed on that object. If the option is disabled, those icons are not displayed. |

Icon size |
Scale for adjusting the size of special icons that indicate constraints applied to graphical objects. To change the size, move the slider with the mouse – to the right to increase or to the left to decrease the size of the icons. |

Degrees of freedom |
The group of controls allows to configure the color of displaying icons of degrees of freedom., available for graphic objects. The group contains the Color button, which invokes the standard color selection dialog, and an image of the degree of freedom icon. The color of the icon corresponds to the one selected in the dialog. |

The group of elements allows to customize the display in the preview of objects that do not have a single degrees of freedom.. The setting is made for the current interface themes. The group contains a Color button, which invokes the standard color selection dialog, and an image of a rectangle. The color of the rectangle's sides corresponds to the color selected in the dialog, while the background on which the rectangle is displayed matches the current interface theme. If for the working area background color is set to a different color., then the rectangle is displayed against this color. The color chosen for displaying fully defined objects is retained for subsequent work sessions, provided that the interface theme does not change. In the case of changing the theme, the setting is reset. |
The appearance of icons of constraints and degrees of freedom is shown in the respective preview windows, which allows to estimate the changes made.
Having completed the setup, press the OK button. Click Cancel to discard all changes to the settings and exit the dialog.
