The configuration saving parameters of the KOMPAS-3D system are set in the System Configuration Saving dialog, which can be accessed by calling the Setup — Options.... — System — Files — Save Configuration command.

Working window settings |
The group of options allows to select a variant of saving the settings defining the appearance of main system window. •If saving is enabled, information about the state of the working window is written to the file *.dsk. •If saving is disabled, the *.dsk file is not created. |

System settings |
The group of options allows to select a variant of saving system settings. The system settings include settings made on the System tab of the general dialog for setting parameters. •If saving is enabled, information about system settings is written to the *.cfg file. •If saving is disabled, then upon exiting the setup dialog, information indicating that settings saving is disabled is added to the current *.cfg file. This file is no longer changed until the saving of settings is enabled. |

State of Open Documents |
The group of options allows to select a variant of writing the state documents opened for editing. The variants are available if saving the desktop settings is enabled. •If saving of the state of open windows is enabled, information about this is recorded in the *.dsk file. The next KOMPAS-3D session will automatically open the same documents as when you exited the previous session. •If saving the state of open windows is disabled, then the automatic opening of documents in a new session of KOMPAS-3D does not occur. |
Having completed setup of the save configuration parameters, press the OKbutton. Click Cancel to discard all changes and close the dialog box.
The existing configuration setting can be saved in a profile file (see section Saving the System Parameters). Subsequently, use of this profile will let quickly change the current setting with the one written in the profile.
