Procedure for configuring mirroring parameters

Scroll

You can set component mirroring parameters and symmetrical component insertion parameters in the Component mirroring parameters.

If the dialog contains multiple components, for convenience you may limit a set of displayed components using Filters.

Step-by-step instructions

1.Select components the mirroring parameters of which you want to setup.

2.Select the method of mirroring the components. The following options are available:

Mirror reflection of the component,

Symmetric component placement .

The basic principles of adding components in various ways are described in detail in section Basic principles of mirrored and symmetrical arrangement of components.

The specifics of choosing the desired method are given in section Selecting the method of component mirroring.

3.Depending on the selected method to mirror components, make the following settings:

Mirroring of Component – select the mirroring result (see section Selecting the result of component mirroring,

Symmetric component placement — configure the position of the component (see section Configuring position of a component with symmetrical placement).

In some cases, when you configure mirroring parameters of a component, all components included in it no longer appear in the dialog. This means you cannot change their settings, because they must have the same mirroring parameters as the component containing them.

The change in the mirroring parameters setting is shown on the phantoms of the components being created in the graphic area of the model. You can control the visibility of these phantoms using the Phantom column cells in the settings dialog. Details...

4.If necessary, adjust the general parameters of the components created by mirroring or symmetrical insertion. To do this, in the dialog toolbar click Setup of general parameters of mirror reflection button. The Mirroring dialog will appear on the screen. In this dialog you can:

determine how to generate names for components, versions, mirrored model files being created,

select the folder to save the models created during the mirroring process.

More details on setting these options see in Mirroring.

5.Complete the dialog Component mirroring parameters by clicking the OK button. The dialog will close, and the operation of adding components will be completed.
