Checking of curve curvature |
Scroll |
Checking of curve curvature is used to find points with a minimum curvature radius (maximum curvature value). Besides absolute curvature maximums, the following can be defined for a curve: points of local curvature extremes, the value of curvature/curvature radius at the extreme (starting and ending) points of the curve. For a flat curve, points of inflection can be found. When checking curvature of a flat curve, the curvature values can be both positive and negative. When moving along the curve from its start, if in a certain part the tangential to the point twists counter-clockwise, then the curvature is positive, if it twists clockwise — the curvature is negative.
Results of the curve curvature check are displayed in the graphic area as numeric values with vectors of normals at the found points.
