Current layer – a layer handled at the current moment of time. It is just the current layer where all newly created objects fall.

Only one of layers of a tile or a view of the drawing can have the state of current. On the Document tree, the current layer is marked with a dot: it is under the number of the current layer and before its name (See Fig.).

Objects of the current layer are rendered in the graphic region with real styles of lines, dots and hatchings which are assigned in the system setup dialogs. It can be said that the current layer is the template which is above all the others and on which the objects are plotted.

The current layer can be any layer of the current view. To arrange objects on any layer, it has to be made current prior to their creation.
