Exporting models to JT format can be performed using the File — Save as... command and the File — Export command.

Exporting a model to JT format using the File — Save as... command allows you to export the model with the current export settings.

The File — Export command is typically used in cases where specific export parameter settings are required. For example, if you only need to view the models, then you can transfer only triangulation to the JT format file, and if you need to work with the geometry, then an exact representation shall be transferred too.

To do this, run the File – Save as...command.

Step-by-step instructions

1.Open or create a model in KOMPAS-3D (part or assembly).

2.Invoke the File – Save as... command

The file writing dialog appears on the screen.

3.In the dialog, expand the File type list and select the JT(*.jt) format to write.

4.Click the button Save.

The model is written to a JT format file with the same name and in the same folder as the source model file. If you want to export the model to another file, change the name of the file and its location in the standard write dialog.

The new setting is valid only for one write session. After writing the setting returns to the default setting or to the setting for automatic export (if available).
