Checking of curvature in an arbitrary point |
Scroll |
To check curvature at an arbitrary point, set the toggle switch Curvature at the point on the Parameter Panel to position I (enabled).
Click the curve or surface to specify a point at which curvature will be checked. The point will be displayed in the specified location with vectors of main directions and with the following parameters:
•the point number in the order it is specified,
•k – curvature value,
•R — the value of the curvature radius.
The row with the results of the curvature check will be automatically added to the Table of curvature check results Under the switch Curvature at the point.
Two modes are available during the command operation – Creation and Edit. In the Create mode, points are specified for checking of curvature.
In the Edit mode, you can change the position of the point or delete it. Switching to the edit mode is performed using the Create/Edit toggle on the Parameter Panel or by activating any row of the table.
To change the position of a point in the Edit mode, use one of the following methods:
•With the mouse, drag and drop the point along the curve or at the face in the graphic area. When you move the point, its parameters change, which is displayed in the caption next to the cursor and in the table of curvature check results.
•Edit the coordinates of the point in the U% and V% columns in the curvature check results table or in the corresponding fields on the Parameter Panel:
•for the curve — enter the offset of the point in the % of curve length field. You can also change the direction of the point offset to the reverse (from the end vertex of the curve to the starting one) by pressing the Change direction
button, which is located to the right of the field where the offset value is specified.
•for a face — set the U and V values in the UV parameters,.
•Select a point object. A point closest to the selected object will be found on the curve. The name of the point object is displayed in the Snap Point field. The point will be associated with the specified point object.
To delete a point, select the required row in the table of curvature check results on the Parameter Panel and click the Delete
button above the table.
