Description of Controls

Name

Description

Print device

The field is used to display the name of the device selected for printing.

Settings...

The button allows you to select a print device and adjust its settings. After you click the button, the standard dialog for selecting and setting the print device appears on the screen.

The commands in the Settings... button menu allow you to save or load configuration of print device. To call the menu, click on the triangle to the right of the button.

Print to File

Switching on this option will make output not to the printing device (printer or plotter), but to the file with the prn extension. At the same time, the file contains a sequence of output device control commands necessary for printing the specified image.

If the printer is set to print to a file (in the Port column selected option is FILE), then the Print to File option turns on automatically and becomes unavailable, i.e. its disabling is not possible.

Copies

Number

This field allows you to enter manually or set the number of copies of the document to be printed using the counter.

Collate

An option, the inclusion of which means that when printing several copies of a document, all the sheets of the first copy will be printed first, then all sheets of the second copy, and so on.

With this option disabled, all the first pages of the copies will be printed first, then all the second pages, and so on.

Sheet range

All sheets

Option allows you to print all sheets of the document.

Current sheet

The option allows you to display the current (at the time of the call to the print command) sheet of a multi-sheet document. The current sheet is:

in a text document, the sheet on which the cursor is located,

in the specification - a sheet on which the line is highlighted,

in the drawing – a sheet located so that it captures the center of the document window.

If the document is not multi-sheet or contains one sheet, then Current sheet is the only available option in the Sheet range group.

Numbers:

Option allows you to print sheets of the document. To select sheets, enter their numbers in the field. You can enter the numbers of all printable sheets, separating them with commas, and/or specify ranges of sheets, for example: 1, 3, 6–13, 17, 22–25.

Print

A drop-down list allows you to specify which sheets of the range you want to print: all range sheets, odd sheets, even sheets.

Selection

The variant allows you to print the selected part of the document – the area covering the selected objects (in a graphic document or model), or a selection of text (in a text document).

If nothing was selected in the document before calling the dialog, or if the BOM is printed, the option Selection is unavailable.

Sheet scale fitting

List of scale fitting options

The drop-down list contains the names of ways to automatically fit the sheets of the document in the size of the print page of the printer:

Fit sheet into page,

Crop by page dimension,

Several sheets on page.

Sheet scale

The field in which the scale value of sheets is displayed when printing; available for input when choosing a method Crop by page dimension. In other cases, this field displays the automatically calculated scale.

Sheets on page

A field to enter or select from the list the number of sheets of a document on one print page.

The field is present in the dialog if a multi-sheet document is printed and selected from the list of fitting methods Several sheets on page.

Gap, mm

The field for entering or choosing from the list the distance between the sheets of the document placed on the print page. The field is present in the dialog if a multi-sheet document is printed and selected from the list of fitting methods Several sheets on page.

Page orientation

The group of options allows you to set the orientation of the print page – vertical or horizontal.

Align sheets

A group of fields allows you to select the alignment of sheets relative to the edges of the print page in the vertical and horizontal directions. The desired alignment option for each direction is selected from the corresponding drop-down list.

Output parameters...

The button allows you to call a dialog where you can set the color of the output, the accuracy of the output of models, enable or disable the output with thin lines, enable or disable the alternative method of displaying fills and rasters.

Output filters...

The button is used to open a dialog of Print Filter Settings for Document Objects.

View

The window is used to view print pages — sheets of paper with regard to “dead zones” (areas at the edges of the sheet that the printer cannot seal due to its design features). One print page can contain one or several sheets of a document (depending on the setting). To navigate between pages, use the navigation buttons located at the bottom of the viewport. The field between the buttons contains the current page number. To quickly jump to the desired page, you can enter its number in this field.

Info

The window contains reference information on the number and sizes of printed sheets of the document and print pages.

If any items were selected in the drawing or in the text document prior to running the Print dialog, the print filter is automatically disabled (using this filter you can select individual sheet elements to be printed, e.g. borders, title block, etc.). You can enable the filter if needed. In this case, if you print a text document, the entire sheets elements will be printed, and if you print a drawing, only the parts of the elements inside the selection frame will be printed.

If a multi-sheet document contains sheets with different orientation, all the sheets will be printed using the orientation of the first sheet. To choose the right sheet orientation, use the Page orientation group of controls.

After setting all parameters, click the Print button to start printing. Click Cancel to close the dialog box without printing the document.
