Notes on working with BOMs created in KOMPAS-3D up to version 18 |

In KOMPAS–3D v18, the internal mechanisms of the BOM module have been changed: now the information contained in the properties of items and documents is used to generate the BOMs. Therefore, to continue working with the BOM document you should transform it into the format of the current version of KOMPAS–3D.
As a result of the transformation, the representation of some data may change, so the BOM needs to be verified after the transformation.
If the verification reveals a loss of information, this means that you should supplement the information in documents that are sources of data for the BOM. To do this, you must specify the property values of items and documents.

The designation, name of the product and its constituent parts and other information specified directly in the BOM document are no longer transferred to documents connected to the BOM or its objects. |
If further work with the BOM does not imply editing, i.e. the document is needed unchanged, you do not need to convert it. In case no transformation occurs, the BOM does not change, but it will be displayed crossed out by dotted lines. When printing the document, these lines are not displayed.
If necessary, the BOM can be transformed to the format of the current version of KOMPAS-3D later using the Rearrange command.
If the BOM was transformed by mistake, the conversion can be canceled by closing the BOM file without saving.
