Additional version numbers |
Scroll |
If model versions in addition to structural differences have variable characteristics that may be inherent in several versions (type of coating, additional configuration of the product with components, etc.), then additional numbers are created in the model.
Each additional number corresponds to a specific set of variable data. This data is set as property values for additional numbers.
Creating a list of additional numbers
The list of additional numbers is created using the Versions control.
Step-by-step instructions
1.Open the Document manager using Versions control
command.
2.In the Manager tree enable the item Additional numbers .
3.On the Manager toolbar click Create additional number of the version
button.
The new additional number will appear in the Manager. It will be generated according to the settings.
If required, you can change the settings. These changes are taken into account only when creating new additional numbers.
4.If necessary, enter the value of the Comment property in a table cell. To do this, preconfigure the display of the column with this property using the Column setting button
. Read more about setting...
You can add columns with external variables to the table and set the values of these variables. To do this, click the Insert variable
button on the dialog toolbar. The Variables dialog box appears on the screen , containing the list of variables of the current execution. If the desired external variable is contained in the list of variables of another model execution, select that version from the Version drop-down list .
Specify the desired variable in the list of dialog variables and click the Insert button. The Variables dialog box will close. A column appears in the table of the Vesion control dialog box, the name of which contains the name of the selected variable. A property is automatically created in the document from the selected variable (see Properties created from variables). This property is included in the document property set and can be edited in the Parameter panel or the Part composition panel.

If a property from the desired variable has already been created in the document, you do not need to use the Variable selection dialog. Setting the display of the column with the values of this property using the Setting columns button |
5.In the same way create all the necessary additional numbers and set the values of their properties.
The list of additional numbers is displayed in the Manager as a table. Values in table cells can be entered manually. If required, you can change the additional numbers created.
You can also change the order of additional numbers in the list (see Moving and deleting table rows and columns).
|
To create additional numbers within the model, you can use the list of additional numbers of another model saved in the ods or xls file format. In this case, the numbers and values of their properties are added from the file to the current model. If the model has a number identical to the number contained in the file (not only the numbers, but also the values of their properties match), then the number from the file is not added to the model. The steps for creating additional numbers using this method are similar to those described in section Using a versions list of a different model. |
6.To finish your work in the Versions control dialog box , click the Close button.
The variable data corresponding to the additional numbers are shown in a graphic or text document in the form of the additional numbers. To create this table, you can use the model or associative view of the model created in the drawing.
Creating a table of additional numbers
The table of additional numbers and the table of versions are created using the same Create table of versions
command.
In order to create a table of additional numbers in a graphic or text document as a result of running the command, in the table settings dialog select the table type Table of additional numbers
.
All steps for creating the table of additional numbers are similar to the steps for creating a table of versions. Working with the created table of additional numbers is similar to working with the table of versions.
