Additional operations with variables |
Scroll |
In some cases when working with versions it may be necessary to set the value of a variable of an operation parameter or a variable of a controlling dimension of a sketch. You can set the values of these variables for an independent version or for objects of the dependent version that have no link with the objects of the original version (for example, the link was canceled or the object was created in the dependent version).
If the variable value should only be set for a single version, make this version current and set the value of the required variable on the Variables Panel. The procedures of configuring variable values for versions and for models are the same (see section Assigning Values to Variables).
You can also create a property from the desired variable of the current execution (see section Properties, created on the Basis of variables) and set its value when working with properties on the Parameters panel or on Product composition panel .
|
If required, you can create properties from any variables, except for functional and interval variables. See section Assigning "uncuttable" components when working with a model. |
If you want to set the values of an operation parameter variable or sketch driving dimension variable for multiple instances, open the dialog Versions control on the Versions page, add the required variable and set its values for executions as described in the section Assigning values to custom variables.
|
Changes in the operation parameter variable (size variable) performed in a version are exported to its dependent versions, if the connection between the corresponding parameters (sizes) of these versions is maintained. |
For a variable of a sketch controlling dimension or a variable of an operation parameter expressed in linear or angular values, you can configure the value and also assign a tolerance for the value of the corresponding parameter or the dimension tolerance.
