Menu of the Configurator contains the following sections:
•File — execution of actions with configuration in general,
•Structure – adding new components to the configuration,
•Management — disabling add-ons and recovering lost licenses,
•Settings — automatic license acquisition and disconnection of add-ons in hidden mode.
The commands are described below.
•Save configuration... - writing current configuration into a *.kit.config file. Note that in the file created this way *.kit.config, relative paths to the component files are specified, not absolute paths, relative to the folders defined by the Apps, Libs, and Utils variables of the KOMPAS-3D environment.. This way, you can use the resulting file as the default data file of the kit.
•Supplement with another configuration... Read data from the selected *.kit.config file and merge these data with the current data of the kit.
•Change configuration... The current data of the kit are replaced with the date from the specified *.kit.config file.
•Supplement with default configuration — search for *.kit.config files in the folder specified by the DefaultKitConfigs variable of the KOMPAS-3D environment, extract data from them and merge with the current kit data.

If the Construction Configuration was set up after the first launch of KOMPAS-3D, then to add its components to the current configuration, invoke the Supplement with default configuration command. |
•Restore default configuration — search for *.kit.config files in the folder specified in the DefaultKitConfigs variable of the KOMPAS-3D environment, and replace the current data set with the data from the found files.
•Add element libraries... — inclusion in the configuration of files of the following types:
•*.kle: KOMPAS element library,
•*.lfr — KOMPAS fragment Library (created in KOMPAS-3D version 16 and earlier),
•*.l3d — KOMPAS model Library (created in KOMPAS-3D version 16 and earlier).
The command for adding a library is also available in the Library Panel (see section Using Libraries of Elements).
•Register Add-Ons... — inclusion in the configuration of add-ons, i.e., files of type *.rtw or *.dll. This command is also available in the Add-Ons option in the Main menu (see section Connecting Add-Ons and libraries to the configuration).
•Add Tools... – connecting files that launch programs to the configuration.
•Disconnect all Add-Ons — disconnect all the connected add-ons (except for built-in add-ons) and libraries from KOMPAS-3D.
•Restore licenses — restore all missing licenses. This command is also available in the Settings option in the Main menu KOMPAS-3D. Licenses may be restored if the reason for the licenses being missing has been eradicated.
•Automatically obtain license to work with KOMPAS-3D – automatic license acquisition for the 3D Modelling module upon the launch of KOMPAS-3D (provided a free license is available on the network dongle key).
•Automatically disconnect KOMPAS add-ons connected in hidden mode: automatically disconnect all add-ons connected in the hidden mode after these add-ons are closed. An add-on operates in "hidden" mode after it has been automatically launched, e.g. for editing an object inserted from this add-on. It is recommended to automatically disconnect these add-ons if the number of licenses for shared add-ons is less than the number of workstations.

Automatic detaching is not available for the following add-ons: •Stock products, •Mechanics: Springs, •Equipment: Flat pattern. |
